THE PASSION At an early age, Philip Zahm was inspired by things of beauty and the vast world of color. As a young man he began to act on those passions and became known by many as a pioneer with his initial involvement in the gemstone industry. With the onset of 1975, Philip began his adventurous endeavors in the gem business traveling the world and continuously challenging himself and others to appreciate the beauty and rarity of the gemstones that had been unearthed from various, extravagant geographic locations. Philip has helped spark the beginning of numerous works directed to and with the intentions of giving back to those mining communities negatively affected by gem excavation. In effort to provide aid as well as a vehicle for raising public awareness, Philip created and led the Tanzanite Miners Relief Fund in 1997. His integral role on the board of AGTA for three consecutive years allowed many of his ideas to be heard and furthered his exposure to sensitive issues concerning human rights and the industry as a whole. In recent years, Philip has concentrated on building the gemstones he's come to love into unique pieces of art with the notion of showcasing the gem itself and its origins in its best possible artistic arrangement.
