THE CONFETTI COLLECTION
Confetti is originally a multitude of small pieces of paper or plastic usually thrown at big celebrations - especially weddings. Confetti is made in a variety of colors and shapes utilizing everything from hole punchers to paper shredders. The English word is related to the Italian sweet of the same name - also known as dragée. The omophony very often leaves Italians confused since by throwing Italian confetti one could injure those on the receiving end. The Italian word for paper confetti is coriandoli. By tradition, the Italain confetti is given out at weddings, often wrapped in a small tulle bag - they are said to represent the hope that the new couple will have a fertile marriage. The design team at Philip Zahm had the word celebration in mind when they developed the confetti jewelry collection.
